My Supplement Stack: Why I Take What I Take

Do you know why you're taking the supplements you're taking?
It's surprisingly easy to build a supplement routine without ever really asking that question.
Maybe you started taking something because a friend recommended it. Maybe you heard about it on a podcast, saw it on social media, or read that it was “good for” sleep, energy, hormones, longevity, or your immune system. And before you know it, you've accumulated a cabinet full of bottles.
But more supplements doesn't necessarily mean better health.
In this episode of Wellness Explained, I'm opening up my own supplement cabinet and walking through what I take, and, more importantly, why I take it.
In this episode, I'm walking through my personal supplement routine, from some of the basics like vitamins and minerals to omega-3s, creatine, collagen, and more.
Along the way, we'll talk about what the research actually says, what I look for when choosing a supplement, and some of the details that can make a bigger difference than you might think.
I'll also share some of my own experiences, including why lab testing has changed what I take, and why a supplement that makes sense for me may make absolutely no sense for you.
But here's the important part:
This isn't an episode about copying my supplement stack.
My routine reflects my diet, my health history, my lab work, and my individual needs. Yours may look completely different, and that's exactly the point.
Before you add another supplement...
Instead of immediately asking:
“Should I take this?”
Start by asking:
“Why would I take this?”
What does it actually do? Is there evidence supporting its use? Are you getting enough from food? Do your labs suggest you need it? Could it interact with a medication or another supplement you're already taking?
Sometimes the answer may be that a supplement makes sense.
And sometimes the answer may be that you don't need it at all.
